Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Laundrine Romerito! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valeriy Grushevky! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grushevky looks to land a combination but Romerito avoids it well. Romerito avoids a punch combination nicely.
Romerito is looking for a counter combo. Romerito dodges the punch combination from Grushevky.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Grushevky!
Grushevky thuds a left hand into Romerito's body. Grushevky lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Romerito circles away quickly and effectively. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grushevky lands a jab. Romerito closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Grushevky tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romerito is putting a hurting on Grushevky here, landing some big shots from side control. Grushevky is looking for a sweep. Grushevky takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Romerito landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Grushevky tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Romerito wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Grushevky managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Romerito.
Romerito in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grushevky is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Romerito wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grushevky keeps working. You can see the frustration on Grushevky's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Romerito are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Grushevky manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Romerito is trying to stand back up but Grushevky is controlling him
Romerito tries to kick Grushevky off in order to stand up. Grushevky Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Grushevky is trying to get an arm triangle but Romerito is defending well. Grushevky thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romerito wants to get back to his feet. Romerito gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Romerito defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Grushevky. Grushevky wants to control the pace but Romerito is squirming around nicely. Romerito really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grushevky has hold of Romerito's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Romerito manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Romerito is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Romerito tries to reverse the position but Grushevky maintains control. Grushevky can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Romerito is looking to escape. Grushevky moves to the back. Romerito preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Grushevky. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valeriy Grushevky dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Grushevky lands a jab to the nose. Grushevky misses with a wild combination.
Grushevky works the jab nicely. Grushevky scores with a shot to the body.
Grushevky lands a left and a right that sends Romerito crashing to the canvas! Grushevky dives into mount looking to finish!
Romerito is rocked!
It looks like Laundrine Romerito has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grushevky has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Romerito is forced to tap!
