Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vincent King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nucky McPharson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nucky McPharson!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for McPharson.

McPharson clinches up with King and pushes him back against the cage.
McPharson lands a body punch.

McPharson breaks from the clinch.
A low kick from McPharson is predictable there
and King makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

McPharson has closed the distance and engaged King in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from King fails to land.
A right handed body shot lands from King.
A nice left hand lands by McPharson.
I was talking to King's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
King misses with a short punch on the inside.

McPharson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet.
McPharson tries a head kick but it misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King catches McPharson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

McPharson's coach down at The Hut - $50 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McPharson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
McPharson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.
King appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
King is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
McPharson tries to clinch up.
It looked like King wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
King is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
McPharson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
King feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits McPharsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looked like King wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
McPharson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling King to score with a decent uppercut.
No joy there for McPharson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McPharson throws the left hand but King avoids the punch easily.

McPharson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McPharson throwing strikes but King manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
King wants to stand but McPharson is controlling his arm.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting King here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
McPharson with a poor takedown
and King counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
McPharson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McPharson darts in looking for a takedown but King gets double underhooks and turns McPharson into the cage.
