Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Handsome Phuthong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Wu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles Wu will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Handsome Phuthong! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Wu! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wu swings for the body but Phuthong moves out of range.
Wu tries to score with a low kick but Phuthong moves his leg out of the way. Phuthong stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Phuthong wants it to stay on the feet.
Wu has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wu tries a body shot but Phuthong blocks it.
Phuthong jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wu walks away with a smile on his face. Phuthong gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Phuthong's coaches at The Million Dollar Performance Center have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wu moves nicely into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Phuthong tries to improve position but can't. Wu gets to mount! Phuthong was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Wu looking to control but Phuthong is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Phuthong looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Wu controls the action. Wu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Phuthong tries to roll but Wu sticks to his back.
Phuthong staying busy and making it hard for Wu to control. Phuthong is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. You can see the frustration on Phuthong's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wu uses his free foot to push down on Phuthong's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Phuthong. Wu sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Phuthong taking shots to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Phuthong is looking to get to half guard. Phuthong wants to control from the top but Wu keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wu lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wu seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Wu pushing down on Phuthong's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Phuthong is trying to get back to full guard. Wu is trying to control. Phuthong wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Wu seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Wu trying to control from Phuthong's half guard. Phuthong has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Charles Wu has got the better of the ground game so far. Wu landing some decent shots from guard. Phuthong looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wu sitting in guard, not really doing much.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wu throws a right hand that Phuthong ducks under and follows up with a left that Phuthong also avoids with ease.

Phuthong is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Wu to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Handsome Phuthong dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Wu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Phuthong avoids it really well and circles away. Phuthong appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Phuthong slips a straight right by Wu. Wu throws an off balance right hand
and Phuthong counters with a shoot takedown. Wu fights it but they end up in guard. Wu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Phuthong is desperately trying to improve his position but Wu has a good base and remains in mount. Wu content just to control the position here. Phuthong is squirming around, avoiding Wu's attempts to control the action.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Phuthong stops Wu from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Phuthong sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wu in particular looking to stall. Wu has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Wu has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Phuthong sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close third round but Charles Wu just about did enough to take it. That's time! Phuthong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Phuthong goes for a double leg but Wu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wu continues to drive forward. Charles Wu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wu lands with a nice combination. Phuthong backs away looking to recover. Wu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Phuthong as he avoids it easily. Wu is looking to clinch but Phuthong is avoiding it.
Wu comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wu darts in and clinches Phuthong up against the cage. Phuthong wants to take the fight to the mat but Wu manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Wu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wu trying to control but Phuthong is working from the bottom. Wu stays in close to Phuthong's body and controls the position.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Wu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Wu wants to clinch. Wu uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Phuthong has time to react.
Phuthong closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wu did well to prevent Phuthong getting side control. Wu is trying to control but can't.

Phuthong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wu is just riding it out for now. Phuthong eventually gives up the hold.
Wu makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Wu tries to close the distance and clinch but Phuthong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wu throws out a loose jab but Phuthong uses good head movement to avoid it. Wu shoots in and drives through. Phuthong sprawls well. Phuthong feinted with a counter takedown. Wu fails to land the takedown. Phuthong changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Wu throws a jab when Phuthong was well out of range. Wu tries to clinch but Phuthong moves out of range. Phuthong tries to counter with a takedown but Wu is quick to defend against it. Wu thows a left - swing and a miss! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wu fails with a takedown attempt. Handsome Phuthong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Wu. Wu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wu wants to counter the offense by Phuthong and move into the clinch position.

Wu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Phuthong tries to counter with a takedown but Wu is quick to defend against it. Phuthong shoots in but Wu avoids the takedown attempt easily. Wu darts in looking for a takedown but Phuthong gets double underhooks and turns Wu into the cage. Phuthong attempts a counter takedown but Wu avoids it well and moves away. Wu misses with a hook.  Charles Wu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Phuthong has his foot on Wu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wu works his way back into a safe position though.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Wu passes Phuthong's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wu wants to advance to full mount but Phuthong doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Phuthong looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wu has picked Phuthong up and slammed him! Phuthong can't keep hold of the triangle and Wu manages to pass to side control! Handsome Phuthong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Phuthong is trying to get back to half guard. Wu laying and praying for a moment but Phuthong takes advantage and regains half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Phuthong wants to get back to full guard. Wu controlling the pace. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Phuthong tries to roll over but Wu keeps him under control.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Charles Wu. Well Wu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
