Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Anders!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suzuki Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Anders bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nice takedown defense from Anders. No joy for Lesnar on that attempt.
Anders appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Anders slips a jab from Lesnar.
Anders feinted with a counter takedown.
Anders tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lesnar paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lesnar or perhaps it was just good defense by Anders, which made it look bad.

Lesnar instigates a clinch.
Lesnar fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lesnar is pressed up against the cage. Anders has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lesnar down to the mat. Lesnar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
We've been informed that Lesnar has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anders gets caught napping as Lesnar dives in and scores a takedown. Anders manages to retain guard.
Lesnar is stalling in the full guard.

Anders looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Anders is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lesnar sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Lesnar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Anders had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lesnar defends it easily.

Let's hope that Lesnar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lesnar postures up and lands a big shot to Anders's brow.

Anders throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lesnar wants to pass the guard but Anders is keeping the position.
Lesnar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lesnar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Anders is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Lesnar frees his head nicely. Oh but Anders has switched to an armbar! Lesnar is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
