Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hazel Murphi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Pecchillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pecchillo avoids the head kick by Murphi.

Pecchillo shoots in but Murphi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Murphi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Murphi tries to close the distance and clinch but Pecchillo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pecchillo fails with the takedown.
Murphi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pecchillo.
Murphi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Pecchillo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pecchillo shoots in for a double leg but Murphi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hazel Murphi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Pecchillo.
Murphi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pecchillo regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Still in half guard, Murphi seems content to control.
Pecchillo is controlling Murphi's trapped leg to prevent Murphi from advancing to side control.

Murphi stands and steps away. Pecchillo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Murphi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pecchillo as he avoids it easily.

so Pecchillo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Murphi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pecchillo's guard.

Pecchillo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murphi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Pecchillo has a closed guard, preventing Murphi from standing up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Murphi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pecchillo wants to stand and escape but Murphi is having none of it.
Pecchillo is trying to control the position but Murphi postures up.
Pecchillo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Murphi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Murphi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pecchillo for as long as he can get away with.
Pecchillo is looking for a sweep. Murphi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Murphi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pecchillo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pecchillo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fight stays on the outside here - Pecchillo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Murphi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pecchillo has him pressed against the cage.

Murphi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pecchillo is fending him off so far but Murphi persists. Nope, Pecchillo circles away and we're back to standing.
Pecchillo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
