The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menchov moves out of range of the body kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mayer is trying to trip Menchov. He has hold of a leg but Menchov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mayer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Menchov has his foot on Mayer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mayer works his way back into a safe position though.

Menchov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mayer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mayer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Menchov quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mayer has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Menchov celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
