Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jessie Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hajime No Ippo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). No Ippo has chosen Hajime Theme as his entrance music. Jessie Duke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jessie Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hajime No Ippo!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No Ippo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Duke appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Duke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. No Ippo defends it nicely.
No Ippo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Duke slips a jab and a cross from No Ippo.
No Ippo misses with a jab, cross combination.
No Ippo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by No Ippo.
No Ippo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Duke moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No Ippo connects with a nice looking jab.
Duke fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but No Ippo avoids it really well and circles away.
Danga de danga de dang - No Ippo scores with a four punch combination!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
No Ippo slaps away a takedown attempt from Duke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jessie Duke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No Ippo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Duke attempts a counter takedown but No Ippo avoids it well and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horrible takedown attempt by Duke or perhaps it was just good defense by No Ippo, which made it look bad.
No Ippo throws a nice looking combination but Duke bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No Ippo misses with the combination.
Duke feinted with a counter takedown.
Duke changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. No Ippo tries to avoid it but Duke manages to keep hold of a leg and drag No Ippo to the ground. No Ippo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No Ippo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Duke shoots in and drives through. No Ippo sprawls well.
Duke misses with a takedown attempt - No Ippo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Duke takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Duke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. No Ippo defends it nicely.
No Ippo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Duke tries to score a power double leg takedown but No Ippo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Duke somewhat.
No Ippo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
No Ippo throws a combination. Duke tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No Ippo looks to land a combination. Duke sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
No Ippo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Duke circles away quickly and effectively.

A momentary lapse in concentration from No Ippo enables Duke to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. No Ippo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Duke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Duke drops back looking for a leg! No Ippo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and No Ippo manages to kick Duke off! Duke jumps back into No Ippo's guard.
Duke is pushing down on No Ippo's leg trying to pass to half guard. No Ippo is fighting to maintain full guard but Duke has managed to sneak the leg through.
No Ippo tries to kick Duke off but Duke keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Duke is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so No Ippo is just riding it out for now. Duke eventually gives up the hold.
No Ippo wants to get back to his feet.
No Ippo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Duke wants to pass the guard but No Ippo is defending well.

Duke is working for a kimura but No Ippo is defending it quite comfortably.
No Ippo looks like he's trying to stand up.

Duke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
No Ippo wants to get back to his feet.
No Ippo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duke looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Duke is working hard here to advance position.
Duke is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for No Ippo!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hajime No Ippo dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Duke dives in for a single leg takedown but No Ippo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Duke dives in and grabs No Ippo's left leg, looking for a takedown. No Ippo pushes down on Duke's head and hops out.
No Ippo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
No Ippo lands with a nice combination. Duke backs away looking to recover.
No Ippo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Duke.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jessie Duke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No Ippo throws a one two combo.
No Ippo scores with a punch to the head.
No Ippo throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Duke looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Duke stops No Ippo from getting back to his feet.

No Ippo is trying to stand back up but Duke is controlling him
Duke works his way into full mount!

No Ippo is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Duke locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! No Ippo is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jessie Duke!
Hajime No Ippo spoke after the fight, saying 'A Kumi me deixou !'.
