Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Lahey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Holiday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Holiday's choice of entrance music: U Can't Touch This . There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Holiday!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Lahey lands but Holiday takes it in his stride.
Holiday shoots in looking for a takedown but Lahey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Holiday's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lahey appears to be looking for a big counter.
Lahey throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Holiday has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Holiday connects with a high kick.
Lahey swings for the body but Holiday moves out of range.
Holiday uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lahey.
Holiday shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lahey counters with a left to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lahey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Holiday drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Holiday wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lahey keeps working.

Holiday is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lahey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Lahey is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Holiday asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Holiday slows the pace down.
Holiday is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lahey is trying to get back to his feet.
Lahey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Holiday working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Holiday is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lahey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holiday tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Holiday has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Holiday is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lahey has escaped the position, nice work there.

Holiday wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lahey, who protects the arm well.

Holiday is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lahey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Holiday wants to control but Lahey is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Holiday dominated that round.
That's time! Lahey's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Holiday manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lahey on his heels. He'll look to pass Lahey's guard now, I'm sure.
Holiday content to stall in guard here.

Holiday is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lahey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lahey has escaped and now he's on top!

Holiday looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lahey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Holiday is looking to cinch up a triangle. Lahey throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Holiday's body to avoid the submission. Holiday has instead reached around Lahey's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Holiday arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

After winning the bout, Dave Holiday thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Jim Lahey spoke after the fight, saying 'Jim Lahey for supervisor of the year'.
