Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lance Burt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Tako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Tako has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lance Burt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lance Burt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Tako! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tako fails with the takedown and Burt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Burt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tako fails with a takedown attempt. Lance Burt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Tako. Tako ducks under a wild hook from Burt. Burt tries to clinch there but Tako circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tako shoots in looking for a takedown but Burt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tako's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tako moves into the clinch. Tako is looking for a takedown. Burt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tako shoots in for a takedown but Burt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Burt wants to clinch up but Tako keeps it at a distance. It seemed like Tako was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Tako fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Burt moves into range and clinches up with Tako. Tako misses with a knee strike.
Tako tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burt smiles and moves away.
Tako shoots in and drives through. Burt sprawls well. Tako looks winded! Burt drives through and clinches with Tako against the cage.
Burt is trying to push Tako away but Tako has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Tako fails to pull guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tako is trying to pull guard but Burt turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Burt successfully pulls guard.
Burt looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Burt is working hard here to advance position. Tako trying to stand up but can't free himself from Burt's guard. Burt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tako's guard. Burt preventing the sweep. Tako working for submissions but it's allowed Burt to get to half guard.
Burt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tako on the ground. Tako tries to get to full guard but Burt has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tako looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Burt controlling the action here. Burt trying to control from half guard but Tako is working away. Tako wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Tako has hold of Burt's hands but Burt slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Tako manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Burt trying to control the position from guard on top but Tako is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tako looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Burt has picked Tako up and slammed him! Tako can't keep hold of the triangle and Burt manages to pass to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lance Burt dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Burt feints and as Tako raises his hands in defense, Burt changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Tako controls Burt momentarily but Burt frees himself. Tako looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Burt passes into half guard.
Tako looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burt sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tako defending well though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tako is trying to control but Burt passes into side control!
Tako is looking to regain half guard here but Burt keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tako trying his best to control but Burt has mounted him. Tako is trying desperately to improve position. Tako is breathing heavily. Tako regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tako is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Burt pulls his head out easily. Burt blocks the strikes from Tako.
Burt is working for a kimura but Tako is defending it quite comfortably.
Tako keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burt drops an elbow to the side of Tako's head. Burt wants to control but Tako is keeping him busy. Tako is trying to control but can't.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tako shoots in and gets a takedown into Burt's guard. Burt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Burt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tako makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tako. Burt working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tako's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tako looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tako wants to hit a switch here but Burt passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tako there! Burt is landing with some decent strikes but Tako is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tako can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lance Burt dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Tako swats away the attempt to clinch by Burt. Burt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tako can do to turn this around? Burt has managed to clinch.
Burt is trying to pull guard but Tako has him pressed against the cage. Burt pulls guard effortlessly. Burt wants to sweep here but Tako controlling him for the moment. Tako prevents Burt from getting back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burt keeping full guard, as Tako tries to pass. Tako is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tako is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tako has gone for a leg lock! Burt slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tako's guard.
Tako has his feet on Burt's thighs here. He's pushed Burt off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Burt screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
