Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doctor Pepper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Sambo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson Sambo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pepper gets caught flat footed, as Sambo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sambo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Pepper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sambo's guard.
Pepper trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pepper drops back looking for a leg! Sambo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sambo manages to kick Pepper off! Pepper jumps back into Sambo's guard.
Sambo trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Sambo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sambo has Pepper pulled in close to control his posture.
Sambo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sambo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pepper is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sambo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pepper's back instead.

Sambo doesn't have the hooks in and Pepper manages to turn into his guard.
Sambo can't keep his opponent in guard - Pepper advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Pepper is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Pepper is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sambo is surviving well by controlling Pepper's body position as best he can.
Pepper prevents Sambo from getting the reversal.
Sambo has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Pepper is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sambo is defending well though. Pepper let's go of the attempt for now.
Sambo looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pepper doesn't have the hooks in and Sambo manages to turn into his guard.
Pepper will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sambo won't allow Pepper to sweep him here.
Sambo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pepper manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sambo manages to get himself to full guard.
Sambo wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pepper has gone for a leg lock! Sambo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pepper's guard.
Sambo stands and throws Pepper's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sambo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sambo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sambo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Sambo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sambo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pepper looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sambo is one step ahead there.
Sambo has gone for a leg lock! Pepper slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sambo's guard.

Pepper gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sambo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pepper gets underhooks to prevent Sambo's takedown attempt.
Sambo is trying to drag Pepper to the mat but Pepper just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sambo has picked Pepper up - he's going for a ride! Sambo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Pepper wants to improve his position but Sambo is controlling well.
Pepper is pressing down on Sambo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Pepper really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Pepper has his takedown stuffed
and Sambo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pepper won't be happy with that.
Pepper sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Sambo prevents Pepper from improving his position.
Sambo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Pepper slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Pepper has his foot on Sambo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sambo works his way back into a safe position though.

Pepper has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sambo doesn't defend quickly enough and Pepper has managed to lock this one up! Can Sambo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pepper on a fantastic submission victory.
