With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Dillafoshaw!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillafoshaw stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Newell.
Dillafoshaw tries to clinch but Newell moves out of range.
Dillafoshaw takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Newell throws a nice outside leg kick.
Dillafoshaw tries to clinch there but Newell circles away.
Newell ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Newell's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dillafoshaw under the eye.
Newell connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dillafoshaw. Dillafoshaw circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


It looks like DJ Dillafoshaw has been cut.
Newell moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Newell connects with a solid leg kick.
Dillafoshaw moves in looking to clinch but Newell pushes him off.
Newell lands a glancing blow to the side of Dillafoshaw's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dillafoshaw tries to clinch up but Newell circles away and keeps his distance.
Newell connects with a solid leg kick.
Newell lands a leg kick that knocks Dillafoshaw off balance momentarily.
A punch lands to the side of Dillafoshaw 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Newell scores with a nice strike.

Dillafoshaw jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Newell looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Newell thuds his right hand into Dillafoshaw's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nice jab there from Newell.
Newell lands a slapping body shot.
Newell has a takedown stuffed.
Newell connects with the punch.
Dillafoshaw tries to clinch up but Newell circles away and keeps his distance.
Newell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Newell scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Newell scores with a punch to the head.

Dillafoshaw takes the fight into the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Newell tries for a takedown. No joy.
Newell on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Newell avoids a wild elbow strike from Dillafoshaw.
Dillafoshaw pushes off an throws an elbow but Newell leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Dillafoshaw is trying to stall.
Newell lands with a left to the head.
Dillafoshaw misses with an elbow over the top.
Dillafoshaw prevents a takedown attempt there.
I was talking to Newell's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Myles Newell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Newell blocks an elbow strike.

Newell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Newell is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Newell feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dillafoshaw's calf.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dillafoshaw throws a looping overhand right but Newell ducks down to avoid it.
Dillafoshaw fails with an attempt to clinch.
Newell tests Dillafoshaw's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Newell lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dillafoshaw moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Newell cracks Dillafoshaw with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


That has opened up DJ Dillafoshaw's cut even more.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dillafoshaw looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Newell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Sloppy strikes from Newell. Those never looked like landing.

Newell lands a left and a right that sends Dillafoshaw crashing to the canvas! Newell dives into mount looking to finish!


Dillafoshaw is rocked!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Dillafoshaw is desperately trying to improve his position but Newell has a good base and remains in mount.

Newell lands a big shot to the head and Dillafoshaw winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
