Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yo Yo Patric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Knox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yo Yo Patric! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ron Honeybunn and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patric moves into the clinch successfully.
Patric has clasped his hands together around Knox's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Knox could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Knox is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Patric is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Knox is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Patric in side control, throwing shots but Knox defends. Knox is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Patric just content to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patric stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knox gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Patric to score an easy takedown into full guard. Knox wants to stand and escape but Patric is having none of it. Patric wants to control from the top but Knox keeps moving. Patric trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Patric would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knox throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Patric throws a big elbow that misses. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Knox wants to get back to his feet but Patric is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Knox is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Patric shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Patric stops Knox from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Patric works his way into side control. Patric is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Knox is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Knox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Knox struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knox is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Patric is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Patric tries to control but Knox wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patric throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Knox because Patric loaded up on that one. Patric working for a guillotine from mount but Knox is in no mood to give up. Patric controlling from the full mount. Patric throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Patric lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patric throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Patric looking to control and managing it successfully. Knox keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Yo Yo Patric dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kevin Knox's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Patric bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Patric trying to control the position but Knox is working away. Knox is letting Patric control him for a moment. Knox is not content to let Patric control the position. Patric tries to score with some ground and pound. Knox controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Knox defending against the ground and pound. Knox regains half guard, as Patric was trying to land strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patric wants to work for an arm triangle but Knox is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Knox is trying to stand up here but Patric is controlling him well. Patric is keen to just control but Knox is a slippery customer. Patric blocks the strikes from Knox.
Knox is looking to escape.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Knox tries to close the distance and clinch but Patric swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Patric avoiding damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Patric stalling against the cage.
Patric gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Knox regains guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Patric. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Patric gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Patric closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Knox's guard. Knox wants to stand up but Patric is controlling him. Patric has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Patric stands up and waves to Knox to follow him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patric instigates a clinch. Patric ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Patric no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Knox throws a big elbow that misses. Knox chips away with some ground and pound. Knox throwing strikes from guard but Patric blocks nicely. Knox wants to get up but he can't break Patric's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Yo Yo Patric has got the better of the ground game so far. Knox throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Patric works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Knox has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Patric is proving hard to escape from. Knox postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patric is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Knox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Patric is working away from the top position though. Knox keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Patric stops Knox from getting back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Knox blocking the ground and pound attempt from Patric. Patric controlling the pace. Patric wants to take a breather but Knox is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yo Yo Patric showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Kevin Knox's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Patric drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Patric slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Patric has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Patric lands a left and a right that send Knox crashing to the mat, dazed. Patric thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Patric has managed to clinch.

Patric throws a series of punches but Knox avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patric closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Knox wants to get back to full guard. Patric postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Knox to stand up. Patric gets a double leg takedown into Knox's guard. Patric takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Knox wants to stand but Patric is controlling the position. Patric gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Patric connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patric clinches up with Knox and pushes him back against the cage. Patric looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Patric manages to break the clinch.
Knox gets caught flat footed, as Patric shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Patric is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Knox is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Patric is controlling him. Patric passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knox trying to control here.
Patric has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Knox wants to get back to his feet.
Patric not landing any meaningful shots this time. Patric wants to control but Knox is keeping him busy. Patric looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Knox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Patric swats him away and circles back towards the center. As Knox backs off Patric throws a huge counter combo but Knox manages to avoid it all. Patric drives through and clinches with Knox against the cage.
Patric wants to get back to striking at distance but Knox won't allow it.
Patric lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Knox manages to escape and get back to his feet! Patric moves into the clinch successfully.
Kevin Knox has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Yo Yo Patric is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Knox lands a knee to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Yo Yo Patric comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Patric has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
