Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corey Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Corey Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason James!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat.
Anderson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
James lands a jab to the nose.
Anderson misses with an uppercut. James saw that one coming.
Anderson throws a nice looking combination but James bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

James tries to keep at a distance but Anderson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Anderson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson unloads a knee to the mid-section. James lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
James misses with a knee to the head.
James takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Jason James has been cut.
James is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

James tries to land a knee to the head but Anderson blocks with his arms.

Anderson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Anderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.
James unleashes a big counter combination but Anderson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Anderson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Corey Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Anderson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Despite the aggression on James's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Anderson closes the distance and pushes James back into the cage.

Anderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
James tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it.
James scores with a one two! Anderson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Anderson moves out of range easily.
James's corner calls for a 1-2. James obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anderson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by James.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
James avoids a punch combination nicely.
James shapes to counter with a head kick.
Jason James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Anderson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching James on his heels. He'll look to pass James's guard now, I'm sure.
Anderson advances to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Anderson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Anderson moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from James.

James is trying to improve his position.

Anderson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Anderson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Anderson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
James tries to clinch but Anderson moves out of range.
James throws a head kick but Anderson moves out of range.
Anderson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
James lands a head kick!
The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
James leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anderson closes the distance and pushes James back into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson has a takedown stuffed.
James leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
James tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it.
James feints and then cracks Anderson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Anderson down.

Jason James seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Anderson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in James's half guard.
Anderson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

James scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Anderson manages to mount him!

Anderson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
James is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Anderson looking to control and managing it successfully.
James in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Anderson manages to capitalize on a mistake by James to take his back!
Anderson is riding his opponent, not letting James buck him off.

Anderson is persistently looking for the submission but James is defending it well.
Anderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that James can do to turn this around?

Anderson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but James has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

James won't enjoy being in this position. Anderson looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - James is tapping - it's over boys! Anderson picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Corey Anderson!
In his post fight interview, Corey Anderson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
