Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arlen Carson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brennan Abramson! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abramson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Carson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Abramson stands up and beckons Carson to his feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Abramson. Carson pushes Abramson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Abramson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Carson tries to bench press Abramson off him but Abramson keeps the position. Carson regains half guard. Carson tries to get to full guard but Abramson has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abramson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carson keeps working. Carson is trying to maintain the position but Abramson is very close to passing his half guard. Abramson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Carson trying to control here.

Carson has a hand on Abramson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Abramson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Abramson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Carson because Abramson loaded up on that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Abramson passes the guard and advances to mount! Abramson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carson is looking to escape. Carson tries to hold on but Abramson pushes him away. Abramson throws some wild stikes that Carson manages to avoid easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carson is looking to improve his position but Abramson isn't that keen on the idea. Carson wants to hold on but Abramson pushes him away. Carson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carson wants to control but Abramson is having none of it. Carson working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Abramson avoids the attempt from Carson to control. Abramson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Abramson controlling the position easily from mount. Abramson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Brennan Abramson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Abramson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carson, pushing him back against the cage. Abramson manages to pull guard.
Abramson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carson is controlling him. Abramson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Abramson wants to stand but Carson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Carson keeping moving, preventing Abramson from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carson is adopting a defensive guard. Abramson won't allow Carson to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carson is controlling Abramson's posture. Carson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Carson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Abramson postures up.
Carson pulls Abramson in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Abramson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abramson throwing shots but Carson is blocking nicely. Carson is trying to control but can't.
Abramson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Carson controls his leg. Abramson is looking to take a break and control but Carson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carson works his way to full guard. Good work. Carson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Abramson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carson. Carson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Abramson. Carson thows a huge punch but Abramson dodges it nicely.
Carson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Abramson to stand up. Abramson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Carson to the ground. Abramson is now in Carson's guard. Abramson is breathing heavily. Abramson trying to control but Carson is working from the bottom. Carson has his hands on Abramson's head, controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carson looking to control.
Brennan Abramson has got the better of the ground game so far. Carson working for a triangle but Abramson defends it easily.
Carson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Carson looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Carson is really struggling to control Abramson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brennan Abramson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Abramson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Abramson showed some decent athleticism there. Abramson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Abramson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Carson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Abramson trying to control from half guard but Carson is working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carson gets full guard. Abramson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Abramson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Carson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Carson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Abramson. Carson pulls Abramson in close to prevent any damage. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Abramson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abramson trying to control the action but Carson is working from the bottom. Carson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Carson tries to sprawl but Abramson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Carson trying to control from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Carson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Abramson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Carson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Carson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Abramson is proving hard to escape from. Arlen Carson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brennan Abramson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The fighters are working up against the cage. Abramson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! Brennan Abramson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Abramson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
