Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnson Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Greening (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson Tanner has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnson Tanner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mason Greening!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Greening fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tanner manages to avoid it.

Greening throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tanner tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Greening is in Tanner's guard.
Tanner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tanner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Greening trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Greening wants to get up but he can't break Tanner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Tanner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greening slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Tanner looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Tanner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tanner shoots in looking for a takedown. Greening tries to sprawl out of it but Tanner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Greening manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Greening misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mason Greening seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Greening bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Greening throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tanner prevents Greening from moving into mount.
Greening should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Tanner is not content to let Greening control the position.

Greening wants to stand but Tanner is controlling his arm.
Tanner tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Greening wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Greening stands up and beckons Tanner to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Greening wants to clinch up but Tanner keeps it at a distance.

Greening rushes Tanner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tanner fails to pull the fight into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tanner gets caught napping as Greening dives in and scores a takedown. Tanner manages to retain guard.

Greening decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Tanner is looking for a sweep.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Greening has eaten all the pies!
Tanner is trying to escape the position but Greening is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tanner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Tanner regains half guard, as Greening was trying to land strikes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tanner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Greening loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mason Greening has got the better of the ground game so far.

Greening drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tanner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Greening has Tanner in his guard.


Tanner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Greening utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Tanner drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Greening manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tanner has Greening in his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Greening is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greening wants to stand and escape but instead Tanner has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Greening working for a triangle but Tanner defends it easily.
Tanner throws a big right hand that misses.

Mason Greening showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Greening gets a double leg takedown into Tanner's guard.
Greening must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mason Greening comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Greening has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
