Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Liam Bourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scamus Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam Bourne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Scamus Kilpatrick !
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bourne tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kilpatrick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bourne looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Bourne tries to keep at a distance but Kilpatrick has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kilpatrick lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Liam Bourne has been cut.
Bourne looking for a takedown.

Kilpatrick tightens his grip and picks Bourne up, before dumping him to the ground. Bourne manages to land in guard.
Kilpatrick pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bourne is keeping the position for now.

Kilpatrick is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bourne is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bourne has escaped and now he's on top!

Bourne won't allow Kilpatrick to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kilpatrick is trying to control the position but Bourne postures up.

Kilpatrick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bourne got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kilpatrick has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bourne has managed to get both his arms back between Kilpatrick 's legs - danger averted.
Kilpatrick pulls Bourne in to control the position.
Kilpatrick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bourne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bourne gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Bourne fails to land the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bourne shoots in looking for a takedown but Kilpatrick manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bourne's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Liam Bourne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kilpatrick will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kilpatrick rushes Bourne and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bourne is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Bourne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kilpatrick shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bourne sprawls well. Bourne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kilpatrick gets slowly back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kilpatrick looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kilpatrick shoots in looking for a takedown. Bourne tries to sprawl out of it but Kilpatrick keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bourne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bourne shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bourne is looking to take a break and control but Kilpatrick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bourne is working for a submission of some sort.
Kilpatrick tries to get to full guard but Bourne has control of the leg.

Bourne escapes and gets back to his feet.
Bourne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kilpatrick stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kilpatrick wants it to stay on the feet.
Bourne shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kilpatrick has Bourne up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Liam Bourne will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Kilpatrick has closed the distance and engaged Bourne in a clinch.
Bourne misses with a body punch.
Bourne is trying to push Kilpatrick away but Kilpatrick has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kilpatrick manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Liam Bourne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bourne passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bourne creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bourne lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kilpatrick down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kilpatrick is looking to regain half guard here but Bourne keeps moving and retains side control.

Bourne is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kilpatrick knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bourne working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kilpatrick manages to get back to half guard.

Bourne wants to control but Kilpatrick is keeping him busy.
Bourne is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kilpatrick is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kilpatrick is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kilpatrick is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
Bourne throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bourne landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Bourne prevents Kilpatrick from standing back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Kilpatrick manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Bourne is pressed up against the cage. Kilpatrick has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bourne down to the mat. Bourne avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kilpatrick is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Bourne manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kilpatrick on his heels. He'll look to pass Kilpatrick 's guard now, I'm sure.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Kilpatrick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bourne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bourne lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Bourne drops back looking for a leg! Kilpatrick is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kilpatrick manages to kick Bourne off! Bourne jumps back into Kilpatrick 's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Kilpatrick misses with a takedown attempt - Bourne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bourne throws a shot from downtown. Kilpatrick moves away and avoids it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bourne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Kilpatrick counters with a single leg into guard. Bourne didn't expect that.

Kilpatrick tries to free his leg and advance position but Bourne is retaining full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bourne here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bourne feints and then cracks Kilpatrick 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kilpatrick down.
Nice takedown defense from Bourne. No joy for Kilpatrick on that attempt.

Kilpatrick blocks a head kick by Bourne.
Bourne misses with a two punch combination.
Bourne goes for a double leg but Kilpatrick avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kilpatrick continues to drive forward.
Kilpatrick misses with a takedown attempt - Bourne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Liam Bourne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scamus Kilpatrick .

Kilpatrick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bourne's waist but Bourne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kilpatrick off to one side.

Bourne thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Scamus Kilpatrick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bourne slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Liam Bourne showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bourne, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
