Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Garik Harlamov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, El Loco! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loco throws the left hand but Harlamov avoids the punch easily. Harlamov half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. A cross from Loco lands. Harlamov defending well as Loco loads up on a big left hand. Loco throws a leg kick and Harlamov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Loco utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Loco preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Harlamov advances position into side control! Loco tries to get back to half guard but can't. Harlamov in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Loco's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Loco taking a bit of punishment here - Harlamov scoring with strikes. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Loco managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Harlamov.

Harlamov prevents Loco from getting back to his feet. Loco wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Harlamov manages to pass to side control. Harlamov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Loco sees it coming and defends easily. Harlamov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Loco can do to turn this around? That's one minute gone in the round. Harlamov scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Loco felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Loco tries to get to full guard but Harlamov has control of the leg. Harlamov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Loco throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Harlamov. El Loco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Harlamov postures up and lands a big shot to Loco's brow. Loco pulls Harlamov in close to his closed guard and prevents Harlamov from doing any damage or advancing position. Harlamov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harlamov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Harlamov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Garik Harlamov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Harlamov won't allow Loco to get back to his feet. Harlamov stands up over Loco, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Garik Harlamov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Harlamov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
