The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medan tries to move into range but Velasquez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Medan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Velasquez misses with a wild body shot.
Velasquez scores with a nice strike.
Medan thuds a left hand into Velasquez's body.
Medan throws a series of punches but Velasquez avoids them all with ease.
Medan slips a jab from Velasquez.
Medan dodges the punch combination from Velasquez.
Velasquez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Medan.
Fabricio Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Velasquez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Velasquez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Medan is trying to defend but Velasquez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Velasquez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Medan throws a big counter combination but Velasquez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

No joy there for Medan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Velasquez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Velasquez rushes Medan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Velasquez breaks from the clinch.
Velasquez is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Medan misses with the combination.
Velasquez drives through and clinches with Medan against the cage.

Velasquez sends Medan crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Velasquez is motioning to the referee to let Medan up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Velasquez shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Medan is on queer street and Velasquez is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
