Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Nicolas Watkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Masters!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Francis DeMontford and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watkins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Masters clinches.
Watkins tries to pull guard but Masters forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Watkins gets control of Masters's arms and successfully pulls guard. Watkins will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Masters controlling from the top position.
Watkins is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Masters engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Masters gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Masters fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Watkins to the ground. Masters is now in Watkins's guard.
Masters is looking to stand up but Watkins won't let him.
Watkins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Masters's guard.

Watkins is looking to work some ground and pound but Masters has wrist control.
Masters seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Watkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Watkins tries to stand but Masters is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Masters manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Watkins tries a head kick but it misses.

Masters shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Masters showed some decent athleticism there.

Masters closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Watkins to the mat! Watkins manages to get full guard.

Masters has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Masters lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Watkins wants to stand but Masters is controlling the position.
Watkins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Keith Masters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Masters is looking to advance position but Watkins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Masters tries to hold on but Watkins pushes him away.
Watkins looking to finish Masters with some ground and pound. This is bad for Masters!
Masters is desperately trying to improve his position but Watkins has a good base and remains in mount.

Masters's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Masters takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Watkins with good strikes from the mount here!
Masters tries to hold on but Watkins postures up.
Masters might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Watkins haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Masters sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Masters is pressing down on Watkins's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Masters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Masters is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Masters wants to stand and escape but Watkins is having none of it.
Watkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Watkins works over Masters with some ground and pound from guard.
Masters avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Masters looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Watkins passes into side control.
Masters is trying to improve his position.

Watkins looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nicolas Watkins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Masters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
