Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zach Makovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mats Lindgraf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mats Lindgraf told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zach Makovsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mats Lindgraf! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Makovsky throws a hook but Lindgraf avoids it easily. Lindgraf with the counter takedown but Makovsky avoids it easily. Makovsky leaves Lindgraf with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Makovsky appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Makovsky cracks Lindgraf with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Makovsky lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Lindgraf has a takedown stuffed. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lindgraf fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Zach Makovsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mats Lindgraf. Makovsky thumps Lindgraf with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lindgraf misses with a takedown attempt - Makovsky sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lindgraf on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Lindgraf throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Makovsky's waist but Makovsky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lindgraf off to one side. Makovsky thuds a left hand into Lindgraf's body. Makovsky does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Zach Makovsky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A solid leg kick lands there for Makovsky.
Makovsky throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Makovsky tries to land a front kick but Lindgraf steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Lindgraf is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Makovsky throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lindgraf misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lindgraf shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Makovsky defends it nicely. Lindgraf shoots for a takedown but Makovsky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lindgraf looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Makovsky is fending him off so far but Lindgraf persists. Nope, Makovsky circles away and we're back to standing. An inside leg kick lands from Makovsky.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Makovsky tries a low kick but Lindgraf avoids it. Lindgraf clinches up with Makovsky and pushes him back against the cage. Lindgraf wants a takedown.
Makovsky pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lindgraf slips a jab and a cross from Makovsky.
Lindgraf fails with an attempt to clinch.
Makovsky throws a quick inside leg kick. Lindgraf shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Makovsky as he jumps to the side. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lindgraf is defended easily by Makovsky. Makovsky changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Makovsky connects with a looping right hand.
Lindgraf is rocked! Makovsky scores with a nice strike. Lindgraf is still on wobbly legs! Can Makovsky finish him? Good leg kick by Makovsky there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Makovsky fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lindgraf looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Lindgraf ducks right into an uppercut from Makovsky. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lindgraf bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lindgraf wants to counter with a clinch but Makovsky pushes him away. Makovsky misses with a series of wild punches.
A good leg kick by Makovsky. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zach Makovsky dominated that round. That's time! Makovsky's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lindgraf throws a body punch but Makovsky moves out of range. Lindgraf's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Makovsky waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Lindgraf. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Lindgraf to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Lindgraf looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Makovsky passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Makovsky in particular looking to stall. Lindgraf on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Lindgraf wants to control but Makovsky is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lindgraf is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Makovsky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makovsky slows the pace down in half guard. Makovsky is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lindgraf has managed to free his arm - good work. Lindgraf is holding on to half guard well. Makovsky controlling the pace. Makovsky seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Makovsky lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Makovsky is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Makovsky is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lindgraf can do to turn this around? Lindgraf wants to improve his position but Makovsky is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Makovsky working over Lindgraf with some ground and pound. Lindgraf looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Makovsky lands a big elbow - Lindgraf is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Makovsky!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zach Makovsky! Zach Makovsky tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
