The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flannery cracks Rivers with a right hand to the side of the head.
Flannery cracks a nice hook into Rivers's ribs.
Flannery swings for the body but Rivers moves out of range.
Desmond Flannery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivers misses with a combination
and Flannery counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Flannery seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rivers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Flannery winds up and cracks Rivers with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Flannery connects with a nice short shot to Rivers's temple.
Rivers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flannery. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rivers is looking to control Flannery's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rivers avoid being mounted?
Flannery is looking to take a break and control but Rivers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
