Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcos Barbosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Martti Esko!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esko tries to clinch up.
Barbosa moves out of range of the strikes.
Esko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Esko throws a right hand that Barbosa ducks under and follows up with a left that Barbosa also avoids with ease.
Esko connects with a good right hand that stumbles Barbosa. Barbosa circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Barbosa circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barbosa darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Barbosa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Esko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Esko is looking to clinch but Barbosa is avoiding it.
Barbosa slips a straight right by Esko.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Esko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barbosa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Barbosa misses with a looping right.
Esko misses with a looping left.
Barbosa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Esko wants to clinch up but Barbosa keeps it at a distance.
Barbosa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Esko takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Esko throws a hook to the side of Barbosa's head but Barbosa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Barbosa checks a low kick from Esko.
Esko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Barbosa trying to control the position from guard on top but Esko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Esko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barbosa controls the pace.
Esko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barbosa's guard.
Esko tries to free his leg and advance position but Barbosa is retaining full guard.
Barbosa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Esko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Esko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Barbosa dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Esko keeping moving, preventing Barbosa from controlling successfully.
Esko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Barbosa wants to control from the top but Esko keeps moving.
Barbosa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Esko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Esko looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Barbosa passes into side control.
Esko looks gassed!
Barbosa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Esko keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barbosa stands up and beckons Esko to his feet.
Barbosa gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Esko throws a jab but it's blocked by Barbosa.
Esko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barbosa sizes up Esko with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Esko throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Barbosa.
Esko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barbosa listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Esko throws a hook but Barbosa blocks it.
A bone on bone clash there as Barbosa blocks the leg kick.
Esko misses with a shot to the body
and Barbosa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Esko's guard now.
Barbosa wants to control from the top but Esko keeps moving.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Barbosa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Esko is not content to let Barbosa control the position.
Esko is trying to get back to half guard.
Barbosa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barbosa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Esko prevents Barbosa from moving into mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcos Barbosa dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Barbosa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Esko looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Martti Esko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barbosa dodges the punch combination from Esko.
Good exchange - Esko coming out on top.
Some wild striking there from Esko.
Esko displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Esko misses with a jab to the body
and Barbosa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Barbosa wants to pass the guard but Esko is keeping the position.
Esko looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Barbosa has picked Esko up and slammed him! Esko can't keep hold of the triangle and Barbosa manages to pass to side control!
Esko is breathing heavily.
Esko tries to improve position but can't.
Barbosa is looking to take a break and control but Esko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barbosa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Esko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Esko wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Barbosa has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Esko's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Esko is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Barbosa!
