Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eduard Melkonyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jorjo Kozacz!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melkonyan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kozacz sprawls well. Kozacz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Melkonyan gets slowly back to his feet.
Kozacz tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Melkonyan is pushing down on Kozacz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kozacz is fighting to maintain full guard but Melkonyan has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Melkonyan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kozacz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Melkonyan.
Kozacz is looking to improve his position.

Melkonyan wants to control but Kozacz is keeping him busy.

Melkonyan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Kozacz looking for a sweep. Not yet Kozacz, not yet.
Kozacz keeping moving, preventing Melkonyan from controlling successfully.
Kozacz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kozacz is on top in guard.


Kozacz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Melkonyan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Melkonyan has escaped and now he's on top!

Melkonyan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Melkonyan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Melkonyan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Melkonyan trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kozacz's guard.
Kozacz wants to sweep but no luck.
Melkonyan trying to control but Kozacz is working from the bottom.
Melkonyan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Melkonyan trying to control the position from guard on top but Kozacz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Melkonyan tries to free his leg and advance position but Kozacz is retaining full guard.
Melkonyan won't allow Kozacz to sweep him here.

Eduard Melkonyan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Melkonyan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Jorjo Kozacz has been cut.
Melkonyan doesn't manage to clinch there - Kozacz circles away.
Melkonyan moves in looking to clinch but Kozacz pushes him off.
Kozacz feints the counter takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eduard Melkonyan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jorjo Kozacz's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kozacz drops his hands for a split second and Melkonyan immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Kozacz face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Melkonyan follows up with a right hand that knocks Kozacz into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Eduard Melkonyan!
Eduard Melkonyan bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
