PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Planitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray J (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). J has chosen Can't Be Touched as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

J fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Planitch sprawls well initially but J persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Planitch on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
J thows a huge punch but Planitch dodges it nicely.

Planitch is rocked!
Planitch tries to get to full guard but J has control of the leg.
Oh Planitch is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

J gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Planitch seems to have got his legs back now.
Planitch tries for a takedown but J circles away easily

and J counters with a shoot takedown. Planitch fights it but they end up in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
J stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Planitch swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Planitch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. J doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. J manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

J wants to control from the top but Planitch keeps moving.

Planitch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
J tries to stand but Planitch is controlling from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

J drops back looking for a leg! Planitch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Planitch manages to kick J off! J jumps back into Planitch's guard.

J passes Planitch's left leg - he's now in half guard.

J seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Planitch does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
J looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Planitch with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
J really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Planitch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Planitch is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Planitch has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but J can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

J frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

J tries to control but Planitch wriggling away.

Planitch defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from J.
Planitch bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
J is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Planitch is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of J's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take J's back!
Planitch doesn't have the hooks in and J manages to turn into his guard.
Planitch manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
J is wriggling around trying to escape.
Planitch works his way to his opponent's back.

Planitch has both hooks in and is working for a choke. J is in real trouble here. Planitch gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, J is tapping out! Planitch wins by rear naked choke!
