Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Duhrover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duhrover has chosen Doggystyle as his entrance music. Optimus Prime has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Optimus Prime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Duhrover!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Francis DeMontford and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duhrover stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Duhrover wants it to stay on the feet.
Prime swinging wildly here.
Prime on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Duhrover scores with a decent looking hook.
Duhrover jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Prime throws a big counter combination but Duhrover scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Duhrover throws a lazy right hand but Prime sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Prime tries to counter with a takedown but Duhrover is quick to defend against it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duhrover throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Prime went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Nice straight punches there by Duhrover. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Duhrover.
Duhrover works the jab nicely.
Duhrover finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Prime on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Duhrover throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Duhrover keeps the fight on the outside.
Duhrover thows a left - swing and a miss!
Duhrover tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Prime is able to avoid easily.
Duhrover pivots, looking for a leg kick but Prime is out of range and Duhrover settles back down.
Duhrover throws a right hand that misses
and Prime counters with a right hand to the body.
Duhrover throws out a leg kick but Prime moves out of range and Duhrover only half commits.
Prime throws a big counter combination but Duhrover scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Duhrover misses with a looping right.
Duhrover scores with the left hand. Prime knows he should have avoided that one.
Prime blocks a jab.
Prime is looking for a counter combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Prime lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Prime.


It looks like Ben Duhrover has been cut.
Duhrover avoids a punch combination nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prime gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Prime works on Duhrover's body with a couple of short punches.
Prime lands a body shot.
Prime tries to throw a body punch but Duhrover avoids it by throwing Prime back against the cage.
Prime tries for a takedown. No joy.

Duhrover pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Duhrover misses with a low kick.
Ben Duhrover is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Prime blocks a low kick nicely.
Prime throws a big counter combination but Duhrover scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Ben Duhrover seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duhrover throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Prime appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Prime closes the distance and pushes Duhrover back into the cage.
Prime has Duhrover pressed against the cage, preventing Duhrover from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Duhrover prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Optimus Prime. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Duhrover is trying to break free.
A right hook to the body lands for Prime.
Prime tries to land knees in the clinch but Duhrover avoids the damage to the body.
Duhrover tries to circle away but Prime has him pinned against the cage.
Prime working aggressively here.
Duhrover wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Prime has him pressed against the cage.
Prime stalls.

Prime has clasped his hands together around Duhrover's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Prime cracks Duhrover with a big right hand but Duhrover just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Duhrover is looking for a sweep.
Prime is working Duhrover over with some ground and pound from side control.
Duhrover tries to improve position but can't.
Prime working the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duhrover parries the strikes from Prime easily there. Prime is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Duhrover to escape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Prime in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Duhrover on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Duhrover takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We've been hearing that Prime has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Prime working the head and body with strikes.


Duhrover is rocked!
Duhrover wants to control but Prime postures up.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Duhrover is looking for a sweep.
Prime lands an elbow.
Duhrover is still in real trouble! Can Prime finish him?
Prime works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Prime in side control lands a decent elbow.
Prime has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Prime cracks Duhrover with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Prime immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Duhrover is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Prime!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Optimus Prime!
Optimus Prime very nearly forgot to thank Big Bear Nutrition 160Q amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
