The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avecilla throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Avecilla lands a high kick!
Avecilla scores with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Avecilla looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Groper tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Groper avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Avecilla thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Groper if he has to take too many more of those.
An inside leg kick lands from Avecilla.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avecilla's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Avecilla duly obliges.
Groper tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Avecilla swivels and escapes.
Groper has a takedown stuffed.
Avecilla appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Avecilla lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Avecilla closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Groper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Groper has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Avecilla clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Avecilla is trying to defend against the choke here but Groper has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Groper Tightens the hold and Avecilla taps out furiously! Groper displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
