Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jere Spence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pikolo Oil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jere Spence!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pikolo Oil!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Spence shoots in for a takedown but Oil shows good takedown defense.
Spence moves to clinch but Oil breaks away
letting Oil counter with a right hand.
Nice sprawl there from Oil as Spence shoots in.
It seemed like Oil was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Oil avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spence tries to clinch but Oil moves away
and Oil counters with a straight right hand.
Spence throws a head kick that misses.
Oil looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Jere Spence seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spence shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Oil doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jere Spence. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Spence.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Oil! But no joy.
Spence closes the distance and clinches up with Oil, looking for a takedown. Spence pushes Oil against the cage but Oil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Oil throws out a counter right but Spence avoids it with no problem.

and Spence takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A shot to the body from Spence misses
and Oil counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Oil counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Spence is breathing heavily.
Oil swats away the attempt to clinch by Spence.
Oil throws out a counter right but Spence avoids it with no problem.
Oil has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

and Oil connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pikolo Oil is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Spence misses with a double jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Oil! But no joy.

Spence fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Oil to the ground. Spence is now in Oil's guard.
Oil is looking to stand up but Spence isn't so interested in that idea.
Oil keeping moving, preventing Spence from controlling successfully.

Oil wants to stand up but Spence is controlling him.
Spence could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Spence trying to control but Oil is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oil is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Spence is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spence accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pikolo Oil dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

enabling Oil to counter with a crisp jab.

Spence throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Oil counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Spence gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Oil counters with a nice uppercut.
Spence shoots and misses
and Oil counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Spence misses with a takedown
and Oil counters with a lovely shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spence throws a combination that misses
and Oil counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Spence with a poor takedown

and Oil counters with a crisp right hand that drops Spence! Oil lets Spence back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Oil counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
