Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Morales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jaan Jalgratas!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morales throws a leg kick which misses Jalgratas's front leg but catches the back leg as Jalgratas tries to avoid it.
Juan Morales seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jalgratas looks to land a combination but Morales avoids it well.

Morales throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jalgratas was covering up waiting for the punch and Morales finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Morales is looking to work some ground and pound but Jalgratas has wrist control.

Morales sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jalgratas's guard.
Jalgratas is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Morales scores with a couple of nice shots.
Morales has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Morales thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jalgratas's head.

Jalgratas is looking to control Morales's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jalgratas avoid being mounted?

Morales is nestled in close to Jalgratas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jalgratas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Morales.
Jalgratas throws a low kick but it's checked well by Morales.

Morales turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Morales shoots in for a double leg but Jalgratas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

enabling Morales to counter with a crisp jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
No joy there for Jalgratas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jalgratas throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Morales blocks it with crossed arms.

I was talking to Morales's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Jalgratas wants to stall.
Morales digs a right hand into Jalgratas's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jalgratas's gas tank.
Morales tries to land a knee to the head but Jalgratas blocks with his arms.
Jalgratas misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Morales.

Morales breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jalgratas closes the distance and pushes Morales back into the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Jalgratas's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Jalgratas unloads a knee to the mid-section. Morales lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
A frustrated look appears on Morales's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Morales wants to take the fight to the mat but Jalgratas manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Morales turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Morales manages to end up in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jalgratas is rocked!
Morales postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Jalgratas covers up, he's hurt! Morales keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Morales and the ref steps in to end the fight! Morales can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan Morales!
After winning the bout, Juan Morales thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
