Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Derrick Deadwood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tiago Motta!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Deadwood tests Motta's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Tiago Motta has been cut.
An inside leg kick lands from Deadwood.
Deadwood throws a jab but it's blocked by Motta.
A nice side step and Motta releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Motta takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Motta walks into a stiff left hand from Deadwood.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Deadwood throws a sloppy head kick and Motta moves out of range easily.
Motta throws out a counter right but Deadwood avoids it with no problem.
Motta blocks a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deadwood dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Deadwood lands a slapping body shot.
Deadwood throws a head kick that misses.
As Deadwood backs off Motta throws a huge counter combo but Deadwood manages to avoid it all.
Motta has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Deadwood.
Motta takes a jab right on the kisser.
Deadwood cracks Motta with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Motta falls to his knees and Deadwood doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derrick Deadwood!
