Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Birchall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randon Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Birchall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Randon Johnson! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson rushes Birchall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Johnson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Johnson lands a nice shot to the body. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Johnson clinches up against the cage. Birchall wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Johnson has him pressed against the cage. Johnson gets through Birchall's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson tries to work over Birchall's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Johnson can't find room to land a body shot as Birchall controls the action.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is pushing Birchall up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Johnson lands on the inside with an uppercut. Johnson told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Johnson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson takes a body punch but keeps moving. Birchall shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely. Johnson clinches up against the cage. Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Birchall gets tackled into the cage by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch. Johnson lands an uppercut. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Johnson scores with a nice hook to the head. Birchall tries to circle away but Johnson has him pinned against the cage. Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Birchall misses the shot to the body. Johnson misses with a wild body shot. The fight moves into the clinch position. Birchall definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randon Johnson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Birchall, before circling back to the center of the mat. Johnson clinches up against the cage. Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson has closed the distance and engaged Birchall in a clinch.
Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson wants to clinch. Johnson forces Birchall back against the cage and clinches. Randon Johnson seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson misses with an elbow over the top. Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Birchall checks a low kick from Johnson. Johnson tries to clinch up but Birchall circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Birchall shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Birchall working the ground and pound from side control. Birchall tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Johnson is trying to control Birchall's posture but Birchall avoids it. Birchall in side control, throwing shots but Johnson defends. Birchall cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Birchall throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Johnson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Birchall misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Birchall lands a strong strike to the head of Johnson. That's dazed him! Birchall looking to finish here. Johnson is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Birchall lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Birchall! Paul Birchall very nearly forgot to thank Alpha Nutrition HIGHEST QUALITY ON THE ISLAND amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
