Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Schwalle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakob Silfversberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schwalle comes to the cage accompanied by Max Payne theme. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Oliver Schwalle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jakob Silfversberg! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silfversberg slips a straight right by Schwalle. Schwalle fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Silfversberg looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Silfversberg staying out of range there. Schwalle takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Schwalle scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Silfversberg steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Schwalle. Silfversberg's coach down at Nights Watch MMA Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Silfversberg's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Schwalle throws a leg kick and Silfversberg counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Schwalle! Silfversberg is trying to get an arm triangle but Schwalle is defending well. Silfversberg landing strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Schwalle gets back to half guard. Silfversberg wants to work for an arm triangle but Schwalle is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schwalle is pressing down on Silfversberg's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Silfversberg stopping the sweep attempt from Schwalle. Silfversberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Schwalle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schwalle controlling the position. Silfversberg trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silfversberg lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Schwalle prevents Silfversberg from improving his position. Schwalle is taking a breather. Silfversberg says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silfversberg is looking for a sweep. Schwalle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Silfversberg won't allow Schwalle to pass to mount. Schwalle is thwarting Silfversberg's attempts to control the position. Silfversberg tries to roll over but Schwalle keeps him under control. Schwalle trying to control the action but Silfversberg is working from the bottom. Schwalle is thwarting Silfversberg's attempts to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Schwalle rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Silfversberg counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Silfversberg on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Silfversberg cracks Schwalle with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Schwalle just misses with a punch to the body.
Schwalle paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A combination from Silfversberg does no damage. Schwalle feints and then cracks Silfversberg's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Silfversberg down. Schwalle connects with a good right hand that stumbles Silfversberg. Silfversberg circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Silfversberg lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Schwalle throws an off balance right hand
and Silfversberg counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Schwalle is rocked! Schwalle walks straight into a right hand from Silfversberg - that's dropped him! Silfversberg jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Schwalle from any more punishment! Schwalle complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jakob Silfversberg! A very excited looking Jakob Silfversberg rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
