Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cappy Christian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ian Rogers! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Christian.
Rogers drives through and clinches with Christian against the cage.
Rogers tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Our sources have told us that Christian has been working on his elbows in the gym. Rogers drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rogers avoids a wild elbow strike from Christian. Rogers goes for a takedown attempt but Christian pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Cappy Christian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Rogers. No joy there for Rogers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rogers avoids the head kick by Christian.
Christian is looking to chop away at Rogers's legs. Rogers clinches. Christian lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Ian Rogers has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogers has Christian pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Christian manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Christian with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Christian tries to land a knee to the head but Rogers blocks with his arms.
Christian avoids a wild elbow strike from Rogers. Christian throws an elbow that misses.
Christian lands an elbow inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers avoiding damage as Christian throws knees to the body.
Rogers works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Christian wants to stand and escape but Rogers is having none of it. Rogers is stalling in the full guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rogers working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Christian keeping full guard, as Rogers tries to pass. Rogers content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers wants to pass the guard but Christian is keeping the position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Rogers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A head kick from Christian lands but Rogers takes it in his stride. Christian throws a shot from downtown. Rogers moves away and avoids it. Rogers unleashes a big counter combination but Christian bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Christian lands with a slapping head kick.
That has opened up Ian Rogers's cut even more. Rogers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Christian did well to prevent Rogers getting side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Rogers is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Christian is trying to stand up here but Rogers is controlling him well. Rogers content to control rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Christian is refusing to be controlled, as Rogers sits in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown. Christian tries to sprawl out of it but Rogers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Christian manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rogers closes the distance and clinches up with Christian, looking for a takedown. Rogers pushes Christian against the cage but Christian circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rogers shoots in and drives through. Christian sprawls well. Ian Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogers shoots in but no luck this time. Sloppy strikes from Christian. Those never looked like landing. Christian lands an overhand right. Christian scores with a jab to the jaw. Christian avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rogers with a lazy takedown attempt and Christian counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Christian throws a body shot but no joy. Rogers unleashes a big counter combination but Christian bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Cappy Christian is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Christian circles away from the clinch attempt.
Christian pounces like a tiger and cracks Rogers with a vicious hook! Rogers is down but not out! Christian follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Cappy Christian! Cappy Christian gave a mention to Beaver Jooce! in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
