Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reggie Marlow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Darren Martin!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Marlow on his heels. He'll look to pass Marlow's guard now, I'm sure.
Martin wants to control from the top but Marlow keeps moving.
Marlow definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Martin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marlow looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marlow looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marlow!

Martin is trying to control Marlow's posture but Marlow avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin is trying to buck Marlow off.

Marlow tries for a kimura but Martin is defending well.
Martin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marlow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Marlow thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Marlow wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Martin, who protects the arm well.
Martin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marlow asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Marlow is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Martin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Marlow is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Martin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Marlow is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Martin!

Marlow jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Martin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Martin and Marlow has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Marlow wants to control but Martin is keeping him busy.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
You can see the frustration on Martin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Martin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Martin is defended easily by Marlow.

Marlow went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Martin shoots in for a double leg but Marlow sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reggie Marlow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Martin.
Martin shoots in looking for a takedown. Marlow tries to sprawl out of it but Martin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marlow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marlow sprawls well. Marlow wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Martin gets slowly back to his feet.

Marlow throws a sloppy head kick

and Martin counters by clinching up.
Marlow is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Martin can do to turn this around?
Marlow is looking to break free of the clinch but Martin has double underhooks.
Martin pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Martin has Marlow pressed against the cage, preventing Marlow from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Martin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Marlow is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Marlow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marlow keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Marlow throws a head kick but Martin moves out of range.
Marlow throws a head kick that Martin semi-blocks.
Marlow throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Martin is breathing heavily.

Marlow lands a nice looking body kick.
Martin swats away the attempt to clinch by Marlow.
Martin blocks a head kick by Marlow.
Martin wants to clinch up but Marlow keeps it at a distance.
Marlow tries a head kick but it misses.
Marlow throws a sloppy head kick and Martin moves out of range easily.

Martin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Marlow counters with a head kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Marlow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Marlow is trying to force a seperation but Martin has the dominant position.
Marlow wants to get back to striking at distance but Martin won't allow it.

Martin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Marlow throws a sloppy head kick and Martin moves out of range easily.

Martin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Marlow leaves Martin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Martin shoots in looking for a takedown but Marlow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Martin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Marlow shoots in but Martin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Martin avoids the head kick by Marlow.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Marlow! Martin is out on his feet! Marlow rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Martin is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Martin is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
