Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Oliver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Morgan! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morgan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Oliver gets tackled into the cage by Morgan. Morgan maintains the clinch. A short uppercut from Morgan. Morgan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Oliver is trying to break the clinch but Morgan has him pressed against the cage. Oliver tries to score a body lock takedown but Morgan shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Oliver wants to take the fight to the mat but Morgan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Morgan pulls Oliver into guard.
Morgan wants to stand but Oliver is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oliver throws a big right hand that misses. Morgan wants to stand but Oliver is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morgan wants to control the position but Oliver says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Oliver seems to be working for a kimura but Morgan defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Morgan wants to improve his position but Oliver is controlling well.
Morgan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Oliver. Oliver with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Morgan manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Morgan manages to break the clinch.
Morgan looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Morgan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oliver has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Morgan has managed to get both his arms back between Oliver's legs - danger averted. Oliver looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Morgan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Oliver's head. Morgan gets to his feet - Oliver follows without any prompting. Morgan throws a sloppy head kick and Oliver moves out of range easily. Steven Oliver is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Morgan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Oliver's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliver moves in looking to clinch but Morgan pushes him off. Oliver walks into a jab. Morgan moves into the clinch successfully.
Oliver tries to pull guard but Morgan holds him up against the cage and eventually Oliver drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Oliver. That's going to take a lot out of him. Morgan connects with a knee to the head.
Oliver is rocked! A bit of stalling here from Morgan.
Oh Oliver is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Morgan manages to break the clinch.
Robert Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morgan darts in and clinches Oliver up against the cage. A shot in the inside from Morgan. Morgan pulls Oliver into guard.
Oliver has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Morgan wants to stand and escape but Oliver is having none of it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Morgan is on top in guard.

Morgan working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Morgan advances position into side control! Oliver is looking for a sweep. Oliver is breathing heavily. Oliver is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morgan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oliver is trying to escape the position but Morgan is controlling the position. Morgan lands an elbow. Oliver is working to avoid the ground and pound but Morgan connects with a decent elbow. Oliver is not in a great position here, taking some shots. You can see the frustration on Oliver's face as Morgan controls the position. Morgan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oliver is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morgan stands up and beckons Oliver to his feet. Morgan lands a brutal head kick. Oliver looks out on his feet and Morgan throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
