Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon Stark is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Stark!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stark clinches up with Meyers and pushes him back against the cage.
Stark's coach down at Morbid Conditioning, Trans, Esc School $1000 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stark's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A body shot lands from Stark.

Stark has clasped his hands together around Meyers's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
A lull in the action here as Stark stalls from top position.
Stark tries to stand but Meyers is controlling his head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stark scores with punches from side control.
Meyers is trying to escape the position but Stark is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Stark has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Meyers sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Meyers throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Stark tries to pass the half guard into mount. Meyers knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Meyers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stark wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meyers keeps working.
Meyers wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Meyers shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Stark counters with a stiff right hand.
Stark shoots in but no luck this time.

Stark shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Stark takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Meyers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stark is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meyers is refusing to be controlled, as Stark sits in half guard.

Stark is trying to work for a kimura but Meyers is defending well.
Stark is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Stark is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Stark is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Meyers defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stark wants to pass the guard but Meyers is defending well.
Meyers is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Stark forces Meyers back against the cage and clinches.
Meyers prevents a body shot from Stark.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stark cracks Meyers with a nice body shot.
Meyers is breathing heavily.
Meyers's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Stark lands an uppercut.
Stark lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stark gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Meyers tries to break the clinch but Stark is controlling the position.
Stark can't find room to land a body shot as Meyers controls the action.
A right hand to the body from Stark.
Meyers is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Stark to keep the fight standing.
Stark lands a shoulder strike.
Stark lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Stark is working Meyers over against the cage.
Stark lands an uppercut.
Meyers working aggressively here.

Stark pulls guard.
Stark wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyers won't allow Stark to sweep him here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stark has Meyers pulled in close to control his posture.

Stark working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Meyers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Meyers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stark pulls Meyers in close to prevent any damage.
Stark wants to stand but Meyers is controlling the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Meyers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stark swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Stark has closed the distance and engaged Meyers in a clinch.
Stark can't find room to land a body shot as Meyers controls the action.
Stark lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Stark is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Meyers can't fight it off and eventually Stark manages to take the fight to the floor. Meyers looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Stark tries to stand but Meyers is controlling from the bottom.
Stark has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stark tries to free his leg and advance position but Meyers is retaining full guard.

Stark sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Stark lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Meyers is looking to stand up but Stark isn't so interested in that idea.
Stark trying to stand up but can't free himself from Meyers's guard.
Stark must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stark gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Meyers regains guard.
Stark trying to control but Meyers is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stark wanted to stand there but Meyers had control of the position.

Brandon Stark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Stark rushes Meyers and presses him up against the cage.
Stark using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Meyers has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Stark tries to throw a body punch but Meyers avoids it by throwing Stark back against the cage.
Meyers is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Stark digs a right hand into Meyers's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Meyers's gas tank.

Stark tightens his grip and picks Meyers up, before dumping him to the ground. Meyers manages to land in guard.
Brandon Stark has got the better of the ground game so far.
Meyers working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stark.
Meyers controls Stark momentarily but Stark frees himself.

Stark drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Meyers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stark has Meyers in his guard.

Stark is controlling Meyers's posture.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Stark striking off his back but it's not causing Meyers any problems.
Stark is trying to keep Meyers in close.
Stark has his hands on Meyers's head, controlling the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Stark is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Meyers tries to keep at a distance but Stark has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stark with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Meyers is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Meyers blocks an elbow strike.
Meyers is looking to control Stark's arms but Stark gets an underhook and turns him. Now Meyers has his back to the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Stark.
Meyers is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Stark manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Stark striking off his back but it's not causing Meyers any problems.
Stark tries to strike from the bottom.

Stark pulls Meyers in close to prevent any damage.

Stark looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Meyers wants to control from the top but Stark keeps moving.
Meyers wanted to stand there but Stark had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Meyers takes a swing at Stark's ribcage but misses.

Meyers tries to break the clinch but Stark is controlling the position.

Stark's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Brandon Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stark has taken the fight to the clinch.
Stark lands a nice shot to the body.
Stark digs a right hand underneath Meyers's ribcage. Meyers let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Stark pushes off an throws an elbow but Meyers leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Stark doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Meyers tries to land knees in the clinch but Stark avoids the damage to the body.
Brandon Stark is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Stark misses with a knee to the head.
Brandon Meyers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Stark has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
