Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Campion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Kurgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Campion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Kurgan! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Campion takes the fight into the clinch. Campion breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Campion moves in looking to clinch but Kurgan pushes him off. Kurgan looks like he wants to counter punch here. Kurgan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Campion moves away. Campion is looking for a counter combo. Kurgan throws a lazy right hand but Campion sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Campion lands with a nice body kick. Campion closes the distance and clinches. Campion struggles to land a body shot inside as Kurgan controls his hands.
Kurgan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kurgan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Campion displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kurgan throws out the jab. Kurgan throws a looping overhand right but Campion ducks down to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Campion doesn't manage to clinch there - Kurgan circles away.
Kurgan swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Kurgan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kurgan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Campion sees it coming and avoids it easily. Campion on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Some wild striking there from Kurgan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Campion rushes Kurgan and presses him up against the cage. I was talking to Campion's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kurgan takes a knee to the side of the body. Campion is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Kurgan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kurgan presses Campion against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Kurgan working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Kurgan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kurgan swings for the body but Campion moves out of range.
Campion misses with a body kick. Campion bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Campion is looking to clinch. Campion tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kurgan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Kurgan gets tackled into the cage by Campion. Campion maintains the clinch. Knees to the body from Campion.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Campion blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kurgan swings wildly with an uppercut but Campion uses good head movement to avoid it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kurgan dodges an elbow strike from Campion.
Kurgan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kurgan feints a jab promting Campion to slip. Kurgan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Campion slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Campion is looking to slow Kurgan down with leg kicks. Campion keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kurgan. Kurgan throws a lazy right hand but Campion sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Campion drives through and clinches with Kurgan against the cage.
Campion escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Campion moves into range and clinches up with Kurgan. Campion is trying to stall.
Kurgan blocks a body shot from Campion.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Campion blocking some punches.

Kurgan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Campion moves away. Campion moves to clinch but Kurgan breaks away and Kurgan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kurgan lands a nice looking body shot.
Campion throws a series of punches but Kurgan avoids them all with ease. Campion takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Luke Campion has been cut. A punch combination from Campion misses. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kurgan connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Oooooh!!! Kurgan has knocked Campion down with a huge combo! Kurgan steps away and waves a wobbly Campion back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Campion is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kurgan throws an uppercut from hell that sends Campion clean off his feet! He's out cold! Kurgan stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). The Kurgan! The Kurgan took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'There can be only one!'. Luke Campion was interviewed post fight and said 'Congratulations to my opponent. He was the better man today. Now I go back to training to make sure that I'm the better man tomorrow. Thanks to the fans for all of their support.'.
