Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Paulo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paulo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Paulo shoots in and bounces Power off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Power is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Power had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Paulo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Power Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Paulo's back instead.
Paulo staying busy and making it hard for Power to control.
Paulo controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Paulo looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Power thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Power is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Power is looking for the choke from the back position but Paulo is controlling his hands well.
Paulo wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Paulo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Power is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Paulo is trying to shake Power off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Power won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Power swings around for an armbar but Paulo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Power's guard.

Paulo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Power to the mat! Power manages to get full guard.

Paulo wants to control from the top but Power keeps moving.

Paulo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Power is proving hard to escape from.
Power is trying to keep Paulo in close.
Paulo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Power is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Paulo is controlling him.

Paulo takes a little break here. Power wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Paulo stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Power misses with a hook.

Power goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Paulo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Power's guard! Nice work there by Paulo!

Max Power showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Paulo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Paulo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Power shoots in and bounces Paulo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Paulo wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Power looking to sit in guard and control but Paulo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Paulo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Power is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Paulo gets to his feet - Power follows without any prompting.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Power can do anything to dispel that myth.
