Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stringer Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ondrej Simunek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stringer Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ondrej Simunek! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell closes the distance and clinches. Simunek creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Bell's defenses.

It looks like Stringer Bell has been cut.
Bell works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Bell tries to free his leg and advance position but Simunek is retaining full guard. Bell is working hard here to advance position. Simunek avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Simunek had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bell defends it easily. Bell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Simunek works some decent striking defense from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Bell has Simunek pushed against the cage. Bell has been working on his balance at School of Hard Knocks, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Simunek. Bell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Simunek is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Simunek lands with a right to the head. Bell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Simunek avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bell can't get the takedown.

Simunek looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Simunek looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bell is one step ahead there. Bell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simunek swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Stringer Bell will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Stringer Bell's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bell is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Simunek's shoulder. That is not cool. Simunek wants to control but Bell postures up.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Simunek trying to remain calm as Bell controls from the top position. Simunek prevents Bell from moving into mount. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Bell wants to control but Simunek is keeping him busy.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Simunek looks like he wants to counter punch here. Simunek punishes Bell's body with a nice straight punch. Simunek throws a jab but it's blocked by Bell.

Bell drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simunek is looking for a sweep. Bell has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Simunek! Bell looking to ground and pound but Simunek is blocking nicely. Bell punching from mount but Simunek doing a good job of avoiding damage. Bell tries to control but Simunek wriggling away. Bell sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Simunek tries to lock up and control but Bell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Simunek is desperately trying to improve his position but Bell has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bell sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Bell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bell looking to control but Simunek is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Bell lands with some strikes.

Stringer Bell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Simunek for as long as he can get away with. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Bell is trying to move to mount but Simunek reverses beautifully and ends up in Bell's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Simunek stops Bell from standing up.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Simunek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Simunek trying to control but Bell is working from the bottom. Bell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Simunek is one step ahead there. Simunek content to stall in guard here.

Simunek throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bell on the side of the head. The fighters circle momentarily. Simunek darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Simunek swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bell. Simunek throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Simunek tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bell was well out of range. Poor timing from Simunek. Ondrej Simunek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
