Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maria Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Breno Monster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maria Montgomery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Breno Monster! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montgomery doesn't manage to clinch there - Monster circles away.
Monster has Montgomery up against the cage in a clinch.
Monster breaks from the clinch.
Monster drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Montgomery tries to get back to half guard but can't. Monster working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montgomery tries to improve position but can't. Montgomery really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montgomery gets back to half guard. Monster missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Monster perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Montgomery desperately trying to maintain half guard. Montgomery keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Monster stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Montgomery to get to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Monster circles away from the clinch attempt.
Montgomery sets himself, and Monster steps forward looking for the clinch! Montgomery avoids it this time. Monster lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Maria Montgomery has been cut. Montgomery tries to keep at a distance but Monster has taken the fight into the clinch. Oh Montgomery is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Monster is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Monster jumps into guard, dragging Montgomery to the mat.
Montgomery scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Monster manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Montgomery manages to get himself to full guard.
Monster is looking to work some ground and pound but Montgomery has wrist control. Montgomery seems to have got his legs back now. Montgomery has Monster pulled in close to control his posture. Monster trying to stand up but can't free himself from Montgomery's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monster being controlled here momentarily. Montgomery preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Monster in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Montgomery keeping full guard, as Monster tries to pass. Monster throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Monster wants to control from the top but Montgomery keeps moving. Montgomery has his hands on Monster's head, controlling the position. Monster looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Monster pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Montgomery is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Breno Monster dominated that round. The cut man is working on Maria Montgomery's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Montgomery looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Monster shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Monster looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Monster tries to free his leg and advance position but Montgomery is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montgomery looking to hit a scissor sweep but Monster is one step ahead there. Monster wants to get up but he can't break Montgomery's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monster trying to control the position from guard on top but Montgomery is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Monster tries to free his leg and advance position but Montgomery is retaining full guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Monster moves into range and clinches up with Montgomery. Montgomery is looking to break free of the clinch but Monster has double underhooks. Monster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Monster shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Montgomery's guard. Monster is fighting to break Montgomery's control of his arms but Montgomery is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monster wants to control from the top but Montgomery keeps moving. Monster postures up in Montgomery's guard and throws a big left but Montgomery blocks it. Monster drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Montgomery manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Monster has Montgomery in his guard.
Monster has his feet on Montgomery's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Monster has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montgomery gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Monster trying to control but Montgomery is working from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Montgomery holds on and takes a little breather. Monster must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Monster looking to pass the guard. Montgomery keeping moving, preventing Monster from controlling successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Montgomery keeping full guard, as Monster tries to pass.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Monster. Montgomery holds on to Monster's head and controls the position momentarily. You can see the frustration on Montgomery's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Monster wants to lay and pray for a moment but Montgomery keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monster fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's one minute gone in the round. Monster working the ground and pound but Montgomery is defending the strikes. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Monster working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A punch combination from Monster misses. Monster gets the takedown into side control. Monster in side control, throwing shots but Montgomery defends. Montgomery gets back to half guard. Monster wants to work for an arm triangle but Montgomery is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Monster takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montgomery has his hands clasped together around Monster's back. He's all about the action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Montgomery trying to control from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montgomery ducks right into an uppercut from Monster. Monster closes the distance and clinches. Monster slows down the pace here.
Monster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Monster throws a head kick but Montgomery moves out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Montgomery or perhaps it was just good defense by Monster, which made it look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monster drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Monster trying to control the position but Montgomery is working away. Montgomery manages to get back to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Montgomery keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Monster tries to stand and escape but Montgomery is controlling the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Breno Monster comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Monster has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
