Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fafnir Amdahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lalo Arango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lalo Arango has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Fafnir Amdahl's chin.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lalo Arango! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amdahl shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Arango tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Arango leaves Amdahl with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Arango with the counter takedown but Amdahl avoids it easily. Amdahl will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fafnir Amdahl. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arango is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Amdahl swings widly with a right hand

Amdahl is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Arango sees it coming and defends easily. Amdahl is trying to control. Arango wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Amdahl seems to be working for a kimura but Arango defends the submission attempt. Arango is defending against the submission attempts here by Amdahl.
Amdahl is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amdahl is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! Amdahl misses with a takedown attempt - Arango sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Amdahl seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Amdahl dives in for a single leg takedown but Arango sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Amdahl shoots in looking for a takedown but Arango manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Amdahl's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fafnir Amdahl. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arango gets a clinch. Arango works his way back into a safe position though. Arango stands up over Amdahl, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Arango scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Amdahl has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Arango can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Amdahl preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Arango is looking to work some ground and pound but Amdahl has wrist control. Amdahl is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Arango frees his head nicely. Oh but Amdahl has switched to an armbar! Arango is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
