Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bj Becks! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franco Williams! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Becks swings widly with a right hand
letting Williams counter with a right hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Becks. Williams does a little dance to reset his feet. Becks takes a shot right to the bread basket. Becks defending well as Williams loads up on a big left hand. Williams lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A cross from Williams lands. Williams scores with a punch to the head. Williams comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Williams scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Williams misses with a body shot.
Williams misses with a wild body shot. Becks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Williams.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Williams cracks Becks with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Becks avoids the body shot from Williams.
That's one minute gone in the round. Becks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Williams misses with a lunging right hand
and Becks makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Becks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cobra Kai Dojo in the buildup to the fight. Williams takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Williams paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Becks is rocked! Williams lands a nice hook to Becks's body. Becks takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Oh Becks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Becks looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Becks is breathing heavily. Becks glances at the clock... BAM! Williams nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Becks crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Becks is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Franco Williams! Franco Williams is the new welterweight champion! Franco Williams really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Alpha-Male Nutritional Supplements (q160) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
