Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meyer Lansky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lansky has chosen Stranglehold - Ted Nugent as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lansky closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lansky is thwarting Souza 's attempts to control the position.

Lansky is trying to work for a kimura but Souza is defending well.

Lansky passes the guard and advances to mount!
Souza is desperately trying to improve his position but Lansky has a good base and remains in mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lansky can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Souza is looking to escape.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lansky wants to pass to mount but Souza is defending the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lansky wants to pass the guard but Souza is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Souza is on top in guard.

Souza postures up.
Souza is pushing down on Lansky's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lansky is fighting to maintain full guard but Souza has managed to sneak the leg through.
Lansky slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Meyer Lansky dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lansky takes the fight into the clinch.
Lansky tries to score a body lock takedown but Souza shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Souza manages to pull guard.
Lansky looking to sit in guard and control but Souza gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Meyer Lansky has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lansky throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Souza escapes and throws Lansky's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Lansky is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Souza off and has taken his back!

Lansky controlling the position well here. Souza rolled but Lansky kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Lansky is working for a rear naked choke. Souza is not defending it well and Lansky has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Souza refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Souza 's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

After winning the bout, Meyer Lansky thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
