The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage fails in his attempt to clinch.
Savage closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mason digs a good hook to Savage's body.
Savage is looking to clinch but Mason is avoiding it.
Savage tries to clinch up but Mason circles away and keeps his distance.

Savage shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mason feints and then cracks Savage's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Savage down.

Savage drives through and clinches with Mason against the cage.

Mason's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

We've been informed that Savage has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Savage misses with a hook. Mason ducked under it nicely.

Mason ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Savage moves away.

Mason thuds his right hand into Savage's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Dean Mason is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Savage rushes Mason and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

and Mason counters with a crisp right hand that drops Savage! Mason lets Savage back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

The fight stays on the outside here - Savage looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mason tests Savage's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Mason feints a jab and as Savage dips his head, Mason unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Savage right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Savage falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Mason smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
