Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rip Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Monteiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rip Hunter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rip Hunter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter works over Monteiro's head and body with a nice combination.
Monteiro tries for a takedown but Hunter circles away easily
and Hunter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Monteiro misses with a takedown attempt
and Hunter counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hunter leaves Monteiro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rip Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Monteiro.
Monteiro throws a sloppy head kick
and Hunter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hunter lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Monteiro is rocked!
Monteiro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hunter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Monteiro thinking.

Hunter lands a big uppercut and Monteiro crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Monteiro looks OK. Hunter waves Monteiro back to his feet!
Monteiro is still on wobbly legs! Can Hunter finish him?

It looks like James Monteiro has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Monteiro tries for a takedown but Hunter circles away easily
and Hunter counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Monteiro has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
