Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Lahey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Holiday!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holiday fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lahey avoids it really well and circles away.
Good leg kick by Lahey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holiday looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Holiday buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Holiday ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Holiday throws a head kick but Lahey moves out of range.
Holiday lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Lahey jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Holiday is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lahey throws a big shot that misses.
Lahey throws a jab but it's blocked by Holiday.
Jim Lahey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lahey moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lahey throws a left and a right that both miss

and Holiday counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lahey is looking to stand up but Holiday isn't so interested in that idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Holiday advances to half guard.

Holiday is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lahey is just riding it out for now. Holiday eventually gives up the hold.

Holiday is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lahey doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Holiday.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Holiday prevents Lahey from standing back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Holiday seems to be looking for submissions.

Holiday is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Lahey is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dave Holiday!
An out of breath Dave Holiday thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Jim Lahey spoke after the fight, saying 'Jim Lahey for supervisor of the year'.
