Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between AJ Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark comes to the ring accompanied by Headstrong. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Clark keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Maia shoots in for a double leg but Clark sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Maia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Maia shoots in looking for a takedown. Clark tries to sprawl out of it but Maia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Clark manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Maia had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Clark is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Maia Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Clark's back instead.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to AJ Clark.
