Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Helio dos Passos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helio dos Passos is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gordon Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dos Passos walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Freeman tries to clinch
and dos Passos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Freeman misses with a combination
and dos Passos counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Freeman down! dos Passos is looking to finish but Freeman is intelligently defending himself.
Freeman is rocked!
dos Passos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Freeman dives on top into guard.
dos Passos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Freeman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Freeman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
dos Passos seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

dos Passos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
dos Passos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Freeman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of dos Passos, into his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Freeman advances position into side control!
Freeman wants to take a breather but dos Passos manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Freeman.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Freeman's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Freeman wants to control from the top but dos Passos keeps moving.
Freeman is pushing down on dos Passos's leg trying to pass to half guard. dos Passos is fighting to maintain full guard but Freeman has managed to sneak the leg through.

Freeman is keen to just control but dos Passos is a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
dos Passos is refusing to be controlled, as Freeman sits in half guard.

dos Passos is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Freeman pulls him back up using the underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freeman is trying to trip dos Passos. He has hold of a leg but dos Passos is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Freeman persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Freeman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. dos Passos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Freeman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Freeman throws an elbow that misses. dos Passos uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Freeman's guard. Nice move by dos Passos!

dos Passos swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Freeman is now in dos Passos's guard. A big mistake from dos Passos there, giving up the dominant position!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Freeman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gordon Freeman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and dos Passos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Freeman tries to bum rush dos Passos with a series of wild strikes but dos Passos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
dos Passos is looking to counter the offense by Freeman and move into the clinch.

dos Passos tries to counter by clinching up but Freeman breaks away and moves out of range.
Freeman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Freeman might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Freeman walks forward and throws a big overhand right! dos Passos drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Freeman swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from dos Passos's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

After winning the bout, Gordon Freeman thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
