Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gugo Ograni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valentin Shovkovskyj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ograni's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ameno - Era . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 14 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gugo Ograni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valentin Shovkovskyj!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ograni connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Shovkovskyj momentarily.

Shovkovskyj is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ograni's half guard.
Ograni trying to control from the bottom.
Ograni wants to get back to full guard.
Ograni blocking the ground and pound attempt from Shovkovskyj.
Shovkovskyj prevents Ograni from improving his position.

Ograni is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shovkovskyj pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shovkovskyj is looking for a kimura here.

Shovkovskyj is trying to control. Ograni wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shovkovskyj working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Shovkovskyj is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ograni tries to roll over but Shovkovskyj keeps him under control.
Ograni is working hard here to advance position.

Shovkovskyj seems to be looking for submissions.

Ograni is defending against the submission attempts here by Shovkovskyj.
Ograni is looking to improve his position.

Ograni makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ograni.
Ograni lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ograni wants to control from the top but Shovkovskyj keeps moving.
Ograni postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Ograni works over Shovkovskyj with some ground and pound from guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ograni's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ograni stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shovkovskyj swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Shovkovskyj is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Shovkovskyj keeping moving, preventing Ograni from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shovkovskyj looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ograni slips nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gugo Ograni dominated that round.

Ograni throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ograni lands a jab to Shovkovskyj's midsection.
Ograni closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Ograni dives in for a single leg takedown but Shovkovskyj sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Shovkovskyj tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Ograni lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ograni feints and as Shovkovskyj raises his hands in defense, Ograni changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shovkovskyj lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shovkovskyj drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ograni looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ograni looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ograni!

Ograni is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shovkovskyj is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shovkovskyj tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ograni wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ograni has hold of Shovkovskyj's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Shovkovskyj seems comfortable defending it but Ograni has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Shovkovskyj is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Shovkovskyj is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ograni couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Gugo Ograni!
A very excited looking Gugo Ograni made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
