Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William McDougal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ilia Livov!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Livov's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Livov lands with a short punch from the clinch.
McDougal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Livov walks away with a smile on his face. McDougal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Livov moves into range and clinches up with McDougal.
Livov has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed McDougal clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
McDougal tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Livov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McDougal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McDougal is working to get back to half guard.
Livov looking to control but McDougal is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
McDougal tries to lock up and control but Livov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McDougal can't escape the position.
Livov wants to control the pace but McDougal is squirming around nicely.
McDougal is looking to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Livov trying to control but McDougal is having none of it.
McDougal blocking the ground and pound.
McDougal manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Livov tries to pass to full mount but McDougal defends it.
Livov is looking to take a break and control but McDougal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Livov in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. McDougal tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Livov!
