Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Ferrigno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delvin Shore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lou Ferrigno had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Ferrigno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Delvin Shore!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shore wants to clinch up but Ferrigno keeps it at a distance.
Shore lands a right hook to the body.

Ferrigno changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Ferrigno scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Shore is trying to stand up here but Ferrigno is controlling him well.

Ferrigno is looking for a kimura here.

Ferrigno is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shore is just riding it out for now. Ferrigno eventually gives up the hold.

Ferrigno goes for a takedown in the clinch but Shore prevents it.
Shore can't find room to land a body shot as Ferrigno controls the action.

Shore has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ferrigno off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Shore tries to move into range but Ferrigno moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Delvin Shore has been cut.
Ferrigno misses with a takedown
and Shore counters with a nice uppercut.

Ferrigno cracks Shore with an open hand slap.
Shore keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ferrigno gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Shore moves in looking to clinch but Ferrigno pushes him off.
Ferrigno looks to throw the jab but Shore is out of range.
Shore wants to counter with a clinch but Ferrigno pushes him away.

Shore clinches up with Ferrigno and pushes him back against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Ferrigno.

Shore is pressed up against the cage. Ferrigno has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shore down to the mat. Shore avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Shore gets a clinch.

Ferrigno has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Shore is trying to keep an underhook but Ferrigno manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Shore tries to kick Ferrigno off but Ferrigno keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ferrigno is trying to control. Shore wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ferrigno is looking for a kimura here.
Ferrigno wants to free his trapped foot but Shore is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Ferrigno seems to be looking for submissions.
Ferrigno prevents Shore from standing back up.

Ferrigno seems to be working for a kimura but Shore defends the submission attempt.
Shore pushes Ferrigno off looking to stand but Ferrigno dives back in and keeps control.
Shore is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ferrigno connects with a jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ferrigno throws a right and a left that Shore avoids nicely.
Shore lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Shore takes the fight into the clinch.
Shore working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Delvin Shore will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Shore shoots in for a takedown but Ferrigno shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shore bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Shore slips a straight right by Ferrigno.
Lou Ferrigno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ferrigno paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Shore swings wildly with an uppercut but Ferrigno uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ferrigno is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Shore tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Ferrigno's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ferrigno is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Shore rushes Ferrigno and presses him up against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Shore - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Ferrigno tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shore smiles and moves away.
Ferrigno has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shore finds it's way round the side to connect with Ferrigno's head.

Shore has managed to clinch.
Ferrigno has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shore avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Shore doesn't manage to clinch there - Ferrigno circles away.

Shore tries to work over Ferrigno's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Shore tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Ferrigno tries for a takedown but Shore manages to get underhooks.
Shore throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ferrignos head.

Ferrigno is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shore pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Shore breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shore doesn't manage to clinch there - Ferrigno circles away.
Ferrigno will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shore is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Shore pulls Ferrigno into guard.
Our spies down at at Irish Collar-and-Elbow Academy inform us that Shore has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Shore takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Ferrigno gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shore to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Ferrigno is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Shore rolls with it to try and escape but Ferrigno cranks on the arm and Shore is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lou Ferrigno!
